Steilacoom, population 6,122, is nestled along the Puget Sound. Sunnyside Beach is a popular destination for locals that want to relax in the sun or host a barbecue. From there, you can look out and see both Anderson and McNeil islands and watch small boats, kayaks, and bodyboards cruise by. Look a little further out, and you will spot the Olympic Mountain Range's snow capped peaks. It's a beautiful view.

During the summer months, residents of Steilacoom and the surrounding areas come together for the Steilacoom Farmer's Market and Summer Concert Series. In the fall, the town pulls in a large crowd for the Apple Squeeze. Steilacoom is a small town, but it has a bustling activity calendar. With several local restaurants and a coffee shop, Steilacoom meets the needs and desires of its residents.

Just four miles from North JBLM, eight miles from DuPont, and alongside Lakewood, Steilacoom has a quiet feel but is still close to work and play.
